An accurate medication list can make a pain-management follow-up visit more efficient. Even small details—such as dose changes, medications stopped by another clinician, or over-the-counter products—can matter when your provider reviews your current care.
What to include
Write down the medication name, dose, and how often you take it. Include prescription medicines, over-the-counter pain relievers, vitamins, and supplements. If you are unsure about a name or dose, bring the bottle or a current pharmacy list when appropriate.
Note recent changes
Record medications that were started, stopped, or changed since your last visit, including changes made by another healthcare professional. Do not restart, stop, or adjust prescribed medication based on online information; discuss changes with the prescribing clinician.
Bring other updates too
If you have new imaging, specialist notes, emergency or urgent-care visits, or changes in your symptoms, bring that information as well. A complete update can help your provider understand what has happened since the previous appointment.
