If pain feels different when you sit versus when you stand, a simple comparison can help you explain the pattern at a pain-management visit.
Track ordinary activities
Use normal daily routines rather than deliberately testing your limits. Note how you feel after sitting at a desk, standing in a kitchen, walking through a store, or getting in and out of a car.
Describe the change
Write down where symptoms are located and whether they feel like aching, burning, tingling, numbness, pressure, or another sensation. Include whether a change in position seems to make a difference.
Bring the pattern to your visit
A few days of brief notes may help your provider understand how symptoms affect function and what questions should be addressed next.
